Mark Lewis ARPS
I taught myself photography at the age of eighteen, heavily influenced by the Japanese 'Provoke' style, especially the work of Daido Moriyama, and later William Eggleston.
Between 1996 and 2014, I operated my portrait studio in Bath. My work during this time garnered fourteen industry-recognised distinctions across my photography and darkroom printing, including Fujifilm National Portrait Photographer of the Year. I am also a qualified member of The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.
In 2014, I closed my studio and took some time to immerse myself in historical photographic processes and personal projects. I have now been operating as a professional for around thirty years and to date have shot more than five hundred weddings and many more portraits.
Today I work primarily with film capture and specialise in black-and-white darkroom.
